When my husband surprised me with a birthday trip to Arizona (full post coming on that soon), a desert photoshoot was on the top of my list, after being in a field surrounded by cacti, of course. The beautiful white sand set against a mountainous backdrop really gets me. In this case, the backdrop happened to be the Grand Canyon. Is there anything else a blogger can ask for?

While there is so much attention on streetstyle shoots, there’s nothing I enjoy more than an editorial shoot which allows you to escape away with me. I always strive for this with my blog content and although I’ve never said it explicitly, I’m pleased every time an Instagram follower or blog reader picks up on that. Thank you for that, guys. After all, this space is meant to inspire your style and lives so there’s nothing better than knowing you recognize and appreciate the editorial-esque content created for you.

I kept my look casual and easy in order to cooperate with the scorching heat. I love this white top from Forever 21 because it combines three major summer trends of year; bell sleeves, lace-up and some cold shoulder action. These shorts are my favourite pair so far. I can literally live in them. Summer has only begun but I know this outfit combination, along with the cutest slide sandals from Express is going to be on repeat. When I was picking out what to wear on my trip, I was clueless. I hadn’t been to a desert before and didn’t know what would work best. I can assure you a flowy white top with shorts is the key to comfort and style, especially when that top combines so many trends. This exact blouse isn’t available online anymore, but I’ve linked a similar option that you can shop below.

I hope you enjoyed this desert photoshoot and watch out for more content from our trip to Arizona.
