Sunday evenings are for looking through old photos on your iPhone, right? Let’s be honest – I can look through old photos on any day of the week. Tonight was a little extensive – I went all the way back to our weekend in New York City last year. This was the first trip after our honeymoon so although it meant lesser luxuries, the memories we made were just as beautiful. From biking to Central Park to evenings at Times Square, yummy eats, wine bars in TriBeCa, and a broadway musical, we did it all. Here are a few iPhone photos from our weekend getaway to The Big Apple.
Day 1: Central Park & Kati Rolls
Bethesda Terrace Lower Passage in Central Park: fulfilling everybody’s Instagram desires.
The best way to see Central Park. We received discounts on the bike rental by making reservations online from here.
One of the many beautiful sightings in Central Park 🙂
Every time I see this photo from our New York album, Joni Mitchell’s Big Yellow Taxi starts playing in my head.
Finally arrived at The Kati Roll Company!
2 “Unda Chicken Rolls” and 1 “Achari Paneer Roll”, please.
Day 2: Financial District, TriBeCa, Broadway Musical and Brooklyn
The last time I had been to New York City was in 1998. One of my most memorable moments was being up top at one of the Twin Towers and taking it all in with my fountain ponytail flying in the wind. As we approached Ground Zero during this trip, I had to take a deep breath but nothing I said to myself held back the tears. This was by far one of the most difficult things to witness as a tourist.
Although Ground Zero got the best of my emotions, I suddenly felt stronger as I looked up at the One World Trade Center.
Caught in the act.
Noguchi’s Red Cube in the Financial District.
We had the best Riesling at Terra Wine Bar in TriBeCa.
Pre-musical selfie at Times Square.
Arrived at the Ambassador Theatre to watch Chicago!
Midnight in Brooklyn.
I feel so much more fulfilled after writing about our weekend in New York City. Writing totally beats scrolling through old photos on my iPhone. Hope you enjoyed reading along.
