Every year when December comes around, I tell myself that I’d like to go check out the Toronto Christmas Market. Somehow it never happens, because of vacation plans or something or the other. So before any of that happened this year, I decided my husband and I should finally spend Sunday at the TCM.
I wanted to go for an easy, yet chic look. I’ve been wearing a lot of long sweaters with my favourite faux-leather tights. Although I love that look for this time of year, I was getting a little bored of it. I recently became acquainted with a local brand, Eris & Thread. At first glance, it seemed like they didn’t have many options. But that’s the beauty of it, they have the right amount of luxurious basics. I also noticed a very grey scale-minimalistic style. But then I took a quick glance at my wardrobe and realized – oh right, I end up with neutral tones anyways. I decided to go for their cardigan called, The Planner. It is a part of their Luxe Knit collection. When I felt the material, it didn’t take long to love it. It had the right amount of thickness, some cashmere (the best part) and it was so soft. I knew it’d be perfect for an evening out at Toronto’s favourite holiday tradition.I finished the look with a light brown scarf and hat. These softer tones brought down the edgy vibes from the tights a notch or two, which is just what I wanted for a date at the market. We loved walking around the market, checking out cute shops, eating delicious grilled cheese sandwiches and sipping on wintery beverages. It didn’t take long to see why the Toronto Christmas Market is one of the World’s 10 Best Holiday Markets. The best part – a portion of the ticket sales support three Canadian charities.
I was very content with my choice of outfit for a date at the Toronto Christmas Market and I felt so comfortable in this luxe cardigan. I definitely recommend checking out this upcoming local brand, Eris and Thread to add luxurious basics to your wardrobe.
