With spring on our minds, I figured it is apt to bring you this feminine and romantic look, inspired by the Pantone 2016 colours: Rose Quartz and Serenity. It is the first time ever that Pantone Inc. selected two colours for the year and I can totally see why they brought these two tones together. Don’t they just make your heart smile? While they look great on a colour palette, you have to be careful with wearing them together because it can easily make your look appear too…how can I say this…playful? (read: like a 5 year old girl wearing pink and blue, topped with a fountain pony). In today’s post, I’m talking about how you can wear Rose Quartz and Serenity together to effortlessly pull off a Pantone 2016 spring look.
The key is to choose one dominant colour and play that one up, while the other colour makes smaller appearances. In my case, I found this beautiful floral dress which is mostly Rose Quartz but also has flowers in the Serenity colour. It was so delicate and feminine. If someone wanted, they could probably throw on a cardigan in the Serenity colour and call it a day. But remember, the key is to keep playing up the dominant colour, so I styled this dress with a Rose Quartz shirt dress and left it unbuttoned. I also wore my favourite watch from Marc Bale and luckily, there was a changeable strap in just the right tone. For this season, I’ve been getting my nails painted in Pantone 2016 colours and I lucked out with the timing on this one because my nail colour in Serenity was just the last bit of detail I needed to put this look together. Oh, and shoes! Find a cute pair of heels in Rose Quartz, and voila, there’s your effortless, feminine and romantic Pantone 2016 spring look!
