One of my favourite combos in the winter season is a sweater dress paired with over the knee boots. These two feel incredibly cozy but also look so chic. Depending on the heel, it can also make you feel very feminine. I particularly love this sweater dress from M for Mendocino because of the cowl neck as well as the wheat tone. These OTK boots are from Rudsak, a Canadian label. The boots are almost 4 years old now, but I’ve never found another pair I’ve loved as much. The wedged heel adds a huge comfort factor. If you’re going to get over the knee boots to wear throughout an evening or any event that lasts a couple of hours, I definitely recommend considering a wedged heel pair.
This shoot was quite special. Just before shooting this look, I met my friend, Nehal after years. We reconnected over the new thing we had in common: our blogs! It was incredibly fun talking about all things fashion and tech. But that wasn’t it. Nehal saved the day and made this shoot happen. I was embarrassed to meet a friend after so many years looking like I had just woken up out of bed. When I met her, the first thing I did was explain I’ve been so excited to meet her even though I may not look prepared for it – but that’s because I lost my makeup case and that too, when I’m shooting a new look right after. To my surprise, Nehal says, “OMG don’t even worry, I’m a makeup artist. Let me do it for you!” I was like what?! That’s just insane. It was so kind of her to offer and I took her up on it. She came to the location I was shooting at and did my makeup while I was seated in my car trunk! Talk about creating an unforgettable memory.
